Brownfields are underutilized properties where the presence or potential presence of hazardous substances, pollutants or contaminants complicates the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of the properties.
The City of Eldora was awarded $400,000 in grant funds to assess environmental conditions at identified priority sites and develop area-wide plans for redevelopment using community input.
We want to hear from you! Community input plays a crucial role in tailoring the area-wide plans to the specific needs and wants of the community.
In June, we hosted a public Open House at the Eldora Community Library to generate awareness about the project and gain valuable insight into the community.
Thank you for your attendance and interest!
In July we attended Pine Lake Festival to gather public input on future brownfields projects and the Eldora Community.
Thank you for stopping by our booth!
Stakeholders gathered in May at City Hall to learn about the program, provide information and to ask questions. A presentation was provided at the City Council Meeting in November to discuss status of the grant program and answer any questions.
